Square One?

Well our appointment took us by surprise. I don’t know what we were expecting but that wasn’t it…

Basically the specialist wants us (and when I say us, I really mean me) to stop taking clomid for a few months. After three consecutive months, he likes to take a break because of the adverse side effects. He wants me to increase my metformin from two times daily to three times daily, diet, excercise and lose some weight.

I just want to say “Hey fat fairy! Fuck off!”. But for anyone else who has struggled with their weight, for whatever reason, knows it isn’t easy.

So, I feel like I am back at square one…. this is where I was last year at this exact time. Last year, I was okay with it…. I lost 30 lbs and got my insulin resistance under control and six months later, started clomid.

He said he wasn’t worried about us, we are young. It would be a different story if we were ten years older…. umm, if I wanted to have my first child at 39, I wouldn’t be starting now.

We see the specialist again in July and I know that essentially we are starting over because we are starting fresh with a new Doctor. I know that he has his reasons and he thinks that we should be able to do this on our own…. so I guess that is hopeful. I just feel like I am a hamster spinning her wheel.

Note to self: Stop feeding the fat girl (ha ha ha).

ps: To my readers, friends, family and lurkers…. thank you for your positive comments and well wishes. They are appreciated. We will have our babies someday.

“He thinks we can do it on our own”

I think you can too. I really do.

I have a question for you, though. Have you ever gotten your thyroid checked? I discovered mine was underactive when we were trying at the beginning, and it took a while until the dosage was juuuust right. Apparently that affects conception BIG TIME.

Check it out, but something tells me you’ve probably covered all those basis…

Once again, I like the doctor’s comment 🙂 Stop thinking about it, girl! Just have fun, keep ‘practicing’ and I’m tellin’ ya….very, very soon….
