Another season has come to pass

I love this time of the year.
It is the only season that I feel
brings with it, new beginnings.
The only time of the year
that we start off on a
clean slate.

The temperature starts to cool.
And I know that Christmas
is just around the corner.

When I was in highschool,
this time of year meant
first day of school and
basketball practise.
It meant homecoming floats
and football.
Old friends, fresh faces.

When I went to university
it meant a whole new
world was opening up to me.

New friends, new faces
new city, new school.

Now that I am all of 29.
(shhh, the big 30 in April).
It reminds me of where I have
come from, where I have been
and where I am going.

It means the temperatures will
cool and Craig and I will
spend the winter snuggling
during movies.

The leaves will turn
and soon turkeys will
cook in everyone’s oven.
And we will all remember what
we are thankful for.

This year I am thankful
that I still have a city
to live in and roof over my
head.
