Week Five Since Surgery – Letter to Husband

Dear Craig;

It’s been five weeks now and you are almost crutch free! Don’t lean, make sure you walk straight putting weight on both hips.

This week has been rather peaceful and relaxing, but then again your parents are staying with us and I haven’t had to cook a meal since they got here. I should really be writing this letter to them. Telling them how wonderful they are and that I don’t just like that they are cooking up a storm but I like their company as well.

The dinner table has been an enjoyable place to be (like always). Six mouths to feed (seven if we count baby Pea). I just count the other Euro as well, since 4 out of 5 nights he is there too.

I think that you have mastered almost all of your recovery and there really isn’t much more left for you to do… aside from tying your own shoes. But hey, we’ll continue to manage. I look forward to the day that you are driving again. I do not enjoy being your personal driver and quite miss you driving me around.

I look forward to this time next week when the TED stockings can go! We will have a TED stocking burning party.. oh maybe not, that could create some stench. Let’s just put them in a plastic bag tied tightly and toss em in the trash. I can’t wait. I am as excited about this as you are.

Unless something crazy happens, this is probably my last surgery letter to you. Although you have precautions to follow for a few more months, I do not really see anything more to be accomplished. My letters will probably be more about how my pregnancy hormones are driving me batty and it is all your fault.

Love, Nic.

p.s. it is partly your fault you know… one little kiss ended up like this. LOL, oh we know just how FALSE that statement is.
