It’s was my Friday

I did not work on Friday. We went to my parent’s for the weekend. It had been forever, at least it felt like it. Last time we were “home” was in July just before our BFP. My belly is significantly bigger now.

Dear Loyal Readers, do not be jealous about this trip. Although it is six hours away, we are not venturing to the tropics or to somewhere sunny and warm. It is six hours to Northwestern Ontario. Typical winter weather there at this time of year is EFFING FREEZING! ‘Nuff said. Of course this year the weather everywhere is “strange”, mild when we should be in a deep freeze. But I am not complaining! Nope, not me. The weather has been great.

There’s a new toy to play with at my parents… My dad bought himself a Quad. I did not go for a ride, couldn’t see that being comfortable. At this stage in the game, nothing is comfortable for me.

The Quad makes me think about when I was growing up. We had a four-wheeler that I nicknamed Trek… LOL. We loved that effing thing. We would just go go go on it no matter the weather. Winter was tough because we were always getting stuck but no matter, we ventured out anyway and spent most of our time digging it out of the snow.

We used that thing to drag trees around when we were building a tree house or a “Fort” and we also used it to drive up trees and knock ’em suckers down when we had no other way. Damn we had some fun times. My sister, cousin Tim and I would all climb on it and go. We used to take it up to my Aunt’s cabin and used hers as well. We would race it along the road or along the beach. Even decided one day to see if it would float… it floated all right but the darn thing wouldn’t start for the rest of the day!

*Sigh*, I remember those good ‘ole times. Some of my best memories are of when I was young and hanging out with my sister and my cousins. We spent so much time together. We’d fight on occassion but we always managed to forgive and forget what the heck we were arguing about. We don’t get together as much as we used to. Distance separates us and our busy lives don’t seem to allow for the time. But I have my memories and when we do meet up we create more. I make sure to tuck those away for a rainy day.

hahaha….I laughed out loud when I read the part about running over trees. What the hell were we thinking? And floating 4 wheelers? Damn we were nuts. Good times. Good times……
