Someday

The ladies that I work with came over, visited and shower Piper with gifts and attention. Craig and I are especially close with one of ladies and her family. Two of her daughters came as well and one of them gave us this card…

SOMEDAY, she’ll be a famous pianist
or a high school science teacher.
She’ll settle down, marry, have a couple of kids.
Maybe she won’t.

SOMEDAY, she’ll help millions of people
all over the world.
Or maybe she’ll travel,
send letters from Africa
or phone you from Rome.

SOMEDAY, she’ll be a strong, confident woman…
but you’ll always remember
the first time
you held her in your arms.

SOMEDAY, she’ll have
her own hopes and dreams,
not knowing that once upon
a quiet time, you closed your eyes
and dreamed
to have her in your life.

And the tears came. The words on this card are so true. I watch Piper everyday and think (already) that the time is going too fast. We are never going to get these moments back. My heart aches that Craig can’t be home to see her everyday too.

A sentiment that rings so true for parents. My most precious memories were, cause I’m a little crazy, listening to that song by Sara Evans “I Could Not Ask For More”, and dancing with Logan. In those moments, even before they are born, you hope every hope, and dream every dream imaginable. I imagine you will spend the rest of your life wanting only the best for Piper. Through hard times, sad times, and happy times your child/children will be your focus. Treasure your days and live in those moments. We know we can’t turn back the hands of time, so give her your everything today. The rest will take care of itself.

Love You.

Sounds like you may have a touch of the “baby blues”…..

but Don’t fret…
someday you may rejoice when she moves on…
I’ve heard too many parents howl & whine about their kids that seem to never leave home…..

I think it may be getting close to the time for me to move in with mine…
Now what do you think they might have to say about that ????

What a lovely post. Yes it is so true that they grow so fast, I would have never believed it until I lived it

Take care
