My Season

Christmas is my season. I love it for everything that was for me, is for me and will be for me. It is the most romantic time of the year…. even moreso than Valentine’s Day. This isn’t just a romance for lovers but for dreamers, for families, for children and for the child that is still inside my 30 year old body. It is magical. I believe in Santa, still to this day. He never disappoints me and each year I can count on him for that Christmas spirit. (I don’t feel like getting into “Jesus is the Reason for the Season” – that is a post on religion that I haven’t brought myself to post just yet) I feel it in my heart and I walk the house, drive in the van, shop and bake with Christmas Carols playing or swirling in my head.

My favourite song has always been Silver Bells… but in the last few years another has creeped into first place. I know Trisha Yearwood sings it but the song that I play is sung by Ray Vega

Take a Walk through Bethlehem

The city’s decorated up for Christmas
All the stores are open late tonight
People hurry through the frozen streets
I take a walk.

Every child has a thousand wishes
Every window has a thousand lights
Every soul has a need for peace
I take a walk.

There’s a star that still outshines the night
You can find it if you close your eyes
And see the light.

Take a walk through Bethlehem
Come and kneel before the Lamb
Good news for every man
Walk through Bethlehem.

Every night another TV special
Merchants counting down the shopping days
But something’s missing underneath the tree
I take a walk.

‘Cause every heart longs for more than tinsel
Something more than just a holiday
Come and celebrate the baby King
Let’s take a walk.

You don’t have to travel anywhere
Faith and hope and love will bring you there
Bring you there.

Take a walk (take a walk) through Bethlehem
Come and kneel (come and kneel) before the Lamb
Good news (good news) for every man
Walk through Bethlehem…

Take a walk (take a walk) through Bethlehem
Come and kneel (come and kneel) before the Lamb
Good news (good news) for every man
Walk through Bethlehem.

Take a walk (take a walk) through Bethlehem
Come and kneel (come and kneel) before the Lamb
Good news (good news) for every man
Walk through Bethlehem.

Take a walk (take a walk) through Bethlehem
Come and kneel (come and kneel) before the Lamb
Good news (good news) for every man
Walk through Bethlehem.

Take a walk (take a walk) through Bethlehem
Come and kneel (come and kneel) before the Lamb
Good news (good news) for every man
Walk through Bethlehem.

I hope the magic finds all of you this season.

It sounds like you and I would get along quite well with the Christmas stuff. I get so into the season, it sometimes makes the hubby a little crazy I think. “It’s the most wonderful time… of the year.”

I can’t believe our girls are celebrating their first Christmas! I think it’ll be the best one yet!

And (from your last comment), every mom measures their kids against other ones. It’s normal. I do it ALL THE TIME 🙂
BUT – Lily is not a good girl to judge this age range by. She’s nutso and is so much like her Daddy in that she’s constantly busy and trying to escape. If she took after me, she’d sit still longer 🙂

I keep coming back to look at Piper’s Santa picture. I can’t get over how perfect it is! Her position, her beautiful smile, her cute outfit! I hope Lily’s Santa picture comes out that well 🙂
