Life has been a bit hairy with the Soosie Patrol.
It hasn’t been great. Piper is able to sleep without it but has been refusing to sleep in her crib. I have a pretty firm stand on the No Crying it Out but sometimes a Mom needs a moment to herself. So yesterday, knowing we were starting swim lessons at 11:30, Piper needed a nap. Or so I thought. I tried putting her down and she cried…. she cried hard. The only way I can *deal* with the cying it out is to not hear it. I showered, she cried. I couldn’t stand it, so long story short, she did not nap.
That is very stressful for me. I think Piper is much like me. She is so very stubborn…. and she doesn’t give in easily. So I wondered how swim lessons would be. I was on edge and she hadn’t napped. She was even too stubborn to fall asleep in the van until we were almost at the pool. Sheesh.
The one thing about Piper that we can pretty much count on is her happy little attitude. Despite the no nap, she was a fun little shit in the pool. The morning was forgotten.
On our way home, I stopped at the Timmy’s drive through and when I pulled up to the window to pay for my large two cream one sugar…. I was told that the car in front of me paid for my order. It made my day. My turn to pass it on.
