Month 22 – Letter to Piper

Dearest Piper ~ 22 months and a brand new year! You are certainly my silly girl and you enjoy getting into a little bit of mishief. I especially loved the day you dug into the baby bum cream and slathered it all over yourself, the floor and Molson. That stuff is hard to get out! In fact, I think Molson still has some on his neck. Poor dog. What he puts up with for you.

We celebrated your second Christmas at Gramma & Papa’s. Despite how hectic things got you always kept your sense of humour and were in great spirits. You even warmed up to Santa Claus when he arrived on Christmas Eve for a quick visit.

We discovered that you are very much an entertainer. We put on the music channel and you wiggled and danced for us. Whenever we would laugh, you threw in an unexpected move with a big grin. You were very proud of your performance.

You have so many words and phrases that I can’t possibly do justice and record them all. One of my favourites is when you do something you are proud of you loudly proclaim, “I did it Mom!” You’ve also learned how accent your independence by saying, “I do it!” You are more a help to Mama in the mornings when you put on your own snow boots or put on your jacket. The boots aren’t always on the right foot, but you do a pretty good job.

Your Daddy and I marvel in you everyday and we do our best with discipline when you act out. Like this morning when you took a mouthful of milk and spit it out all over the floor. I get that you are experiencing new things and learning what you can do, but Piper that’s disgusting. So Daddy put you in a corner for time out and Mama had to go into another room so you wouldn’t see her laughing.

Oh the last year has been great fun and we can only imagine that it will get better. Two more months and you will be two. Two. Two years old. My baby is growing up. We will have a new addition to our family this summer and I hope you adjust well and adjust quickly. I’m looking forward to staying home with you both and being a mother of two….. we are going to have so much fun.

Mommy loves you, Sweetest Pea.

Love Mommy.

I love your monthly letters. They are just beautiful.

They will be something for her to read when she is older.
