Month Four – Letter to Davilyn

Dear Davilyn –

You make my heart sing. I am trying to find the last four months because I have no idea where they have gone. I swear that it was just yesterday that you entered our world and turned it upside down. Having two, is alot more work than one… but the rewards can never be measured.

I marvel at you every day and the new things that you are doing… like sucking on your fist. It really happened over night. One day you had no idea that you had hands and then all of a sudden they are in your mouth. You almost prefer them to your soosie. I still get so excited over these milestones, like you were the first baby EVER to do this. Mommy knows that you aren’t but it is the first time YOU are doing these things and it is oh so special to me. I want to catch your entire life on tape or camera or digital so I can watch over and over and over again. Never missing a beat, a blink, a smile or a giggle.

What an amazing gift I have been given to be your Mommy. There are times when I don’t want to put you down and then I am quickly called back to reality and the fact that I have a toddler that needs me too. The time is going by so fast, as it always does when I am having so much fun.

Mama took you and Piper to Gramma and Papa’s for a visit all by herself. You don’t seem to mind being in the van and en route… which is a big difference for us.

You are smiling so much now and giggling and “talking”. I enjoy watching you smile at your sister and everyone else, especially me. I get the biggest smiles in the morning when I get you from your crib. Another morning baby. You also love having baths! You kick and move and smile the whole time. I just sit there watching you enjoy yourself. I am actually looking forward to the mess that you and your sister will make in the tub together.

Here we are having a morning snuggle… it is rare in this house for anyone to sleep in when Piper is awake but Mama was so glad she got have this moment with you. Another Kodak click to tuck away in my memories and pull out on a rainy day.
