Dearest Davilyn ~

Oh. My. Word. You are five months old today and I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone. As I write this you are sleeping on the couch beside me with your feet resting on my leg. We don’t get many quiet moments like this with a two year old in the house, so Mama treasures every second.

You are such a happy baby. I can honestly say that the only times you cry are when you are tired, hungry or dirty! How friggen lucky are we! Sometimes you let out a modified cry when you want out of your car seat or someone to pick you up and when your sister yanks you a little bit too hard.

You are also my perfect little sleeper… If it weren’t for you, I never would have believed that children could actually sleep that great! You tend to sleep from 8:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. with one wake up and feed any where from 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. And you continue to have 2 -3 naps each day. PLEASE DON’T STOP, being my perfect little sleeper. I lurve it so very much. We are still swaddling you at night… you break free and yell out and usually Daddy goes in, reswaddles you, gives your soother and all is right Davilynville.

You celebrated your first Halloween as Nemo… and what a cute clown fish you were! Actually, Mama dressed both you and Piper as Nemo and you were both so cute together.

You joined us for some trick or treating. We visited the houses on our street and then you spent the rest of the evening at home with Gramma handing out treats.

Mama had so much fun dressing you up that she is already wondering what cute costumes she can find for next Halloween.

I never could have imagined that Halloween could be more fun than when I was a child… but taking my own children out is 120% better! Someday, when you have children of your own, you will understand.

It is hard to believe that in just 5 short months, Mama has forgotten what life was like without you. It is as though you were here all along… and I guess in some way you were. I want you to know how much joy I feel when I see your smiling face in the crib every morning and when I hear you sigh and drift off to sleep every night. Somehow I was fortunate enough to be so incredibly blessed and I want you know that I love you… more than my own life, much more.

Mama loves you Bugaboo,

Love Mama
