Dearest Piper ~

You continue to make me laugh! I don’t know where you come up with some of the things you say, but you certainly have the gift of gab. You even talk in your sleep. Just the other night I heard you say, “No Mama, not that one. I want that candy.” This obsession for candy has peaked since Halloween. You and your sister both dressed up as Nemo and what cute clown fish you were!

With all the funny things that you are saying, you are also saying some not so funny things. I never expected that you would start talking back to me at the ripe old age of 2.5! Just last night, as I was explaining to you the importance of going to sleep, you plugged your ears and said, “I’m sorry, Mama, I can’t hear you!”

Mama had to promptly leave the room so she could laugh. If you saw me laughing, this would just encourage your behaviour and I do not want to do that!

You continue to ask… no plead, with Mama to send you to school! I’m working on it, honey. I am hoping to send you to pre-school two mornings a week starting in January. I hope you like it as much as you like the thought of it.

This parenting thing gets more challenging everyday as you grow and seek out your own independence. I know this is important for your development but it is oh so hard on me. I just pray we get through without too many battle scars.

Mama loves you Sweetest Pea,

Love Mama.

It’s so funny those moments when you know they shouldn’t do or say something, but you have to laugh at them. I always walk away too.
