I am so tired of the the Mommy Wars. They are everywhere, aren’t they? I think what I hate the most about it, is that I am usually on the wrong side of the tracks. For two reasons:

1. Both my daughters were born via cesarean section; and
2. Both my daughters were and are formula fed.

Stop telling me that breast is best! I am an educated and smart woman, so stop fucking telling me that. I know! If I could have given my children breast milk, I would have… so shut up already.

Stop telling me that cesarean births are unecessary and overused. Until you have a history of stillbirth in your family and a labour that follows ruptured membranes with no progression after 16 hours, shut up!

So, until you have had to face breastfeeding your baby with no supply or a stillbirth in your family or a high risk pregnancy that led to a high risk delivery…… SHUT YOUR MOUTH.

That’s all I have to say about that… and I feel a teeny tiny bit better.

I hear ya! Although I didn’t have c-sections, and did breastfeed, there are so many things that we jugde each other on! I say to each his own, each family does what’s best for them. What they should be worrying about are the families who drug addicts, abusers, neglectors, and so on.

Totally! I don’t know why moms feel the need to tell other people how to parent their kids. Women need support, not judgement. You preach it, sista 🙂

And you call yourself a MOTHER???

I went through the breastmilk horror myself. I put a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself and you know what? When you look around the Gymboree class or preschool playgroup can you pick out the formula fed kids? Uhhhh, nope!

If I had a third? I’m not even sure I’d try to nurse it.
