The Elf on our Shelf

His name is Marcus and he joined our family in November. You can find out more about his kind here The Elf on The Shelf

Both of the girls are enjoying Marcus’ visits to our home. Even Davilyn (at 18 months) spots him in the mornings. He is not as mischevious as some Elves are, but he does tend to get into things. We have found him in the morning with a half eaten ginger bread cookie in his hands. We have found him playing with letter blocks and Piper was amazed to see that he had arranged the blocks to spell, “Marcus The Elf”. We have found him sitting in our Christmas tree among the other ornaments or moving all the candy canes around and sitting on the kitchen island with Piper’s crayons and colouring paper laid out (with a beautifully coloured picture). He has been found trying to wear a pair of Davilyn’s slippers and hanging on their coat hooks. Or sitting in my cupboard amongst the cereal boxes.

It’s something for them to look forward to each morning when they try to find out where Marcus has landed.

There have even been a few occasions when his location did not change at all and we have had to explain to Piper that it was just far too cold outside and he did not want to make the long journey back to the North Pole.
Instead, he wanted to stay right where he was and stay warm.

I think this is the coolest idea. I'm totally going to get one.
