The Post I really want to write

Talks about how awesome it is that the girls are sharing a room. Talks about how wonderfully we have all settled into this new routine and how we are all getting just as much, if not more sleep.

But the truth is… it’s been hard. Davilyn isn’t sleeping through the night anymore, nor is Piper (not that she ever did) and bed time is much harder.
Part of me feels like we need to stick it out and give it a good chance to really know if it is working. The other part of me is ready to throw in the towel. The only thing stopping me is wondering what will then happen with Squirt when she arrives. I mean, we have to put the girls somewhere!
The other part of the post that I really want to write is about how we are not having any problems with an almost 4 year old and her attitude, manners and listening skills. I’ve heard them called the fucking fours, but didn’t really want to believe it. Piper has mastered the art of the temper tantrum. It’s one thing for her to do this during the day/evening (I mean even that is brutal) but she has done it twice now in the middle of the night (please see above where Piper is still not sleeping through the night).
I am at a total loss of how to handle these episodes. She had one last night that lasted an hour. I.kid.not. An hour people. Throw that together with the fact that we are all getting used to the new sleeping arrangements and you can imagine how freaking tired we all are.
So we trudge on in this unchartered territory for our family and we keep our fingers crossed that we all make it out with our sanity still firmly in place. Although things aren’t looking good right now but then again, this is all so fresh in my mind.

Just hang in there! It will get easier.

Only an hour? One of mine can go on for hours! 🙂 It's just another phase it will change when you least expect it… right? 🙂

Good luck with the sleeping issues, hope you find something that works well for you guys. I would do anything to have an extra bedroom to separate my boys but we don't have one so we just keep plugging along. Good Luck

It will get easier, right. I'll try to keep that in mind.

Tonight went much better but to accomplish it, we've had to push Piper's bedtime back…. I'm not sure about that, since she needs all the sleep she can get.

Oh Rumour! I say stick it out, I'd also say find a good bottle of wine for yourself if you weren't pg. I think my love of wine started around the time the twins were 4. I feel your pain though. Do what you have to do to get some sleep, and even bribe your girls with polly pockets if needed. 🙂

I understand what you are going through. You will most certainly find your way and I found for myself that sticking to my guns brings the best possible out come.
