Valentine’s Day and a Birth Plan?

We started off the day by giving the girls their Valentine treats (a hollow chocolate heart with smarties inside) and this is what they had for breakfast. I should tell you that I am the best mother ever, as declared by my 3.5 year old while she ate it.

Craig spent the day in the basement with the girls, cleaning and organizing and I laid in bed watching season 1 of FRIENDS. That show never gets old for me. I don’t know how many times I have watched it.
I made lunch of scrambled eggs, sausage and grapes and then we all retreated to the basement where we proceeded to throw away junk. Lots of it. And there is still lots left.
Then we all got dressed (because none of us were actually dressed yet) and went to A & W for a romantic dinner. Ahhh, that’s life with a 3.5 year old and a 20 month old (and they were super well behaved).
And we kinda sorta have a plan in place for the birth of the final instalment of our family. My section will be scheduled for around the second week in April (38 weeks) and if I make it that far then I’ll be shocked (but that’s a good thing). Craig called his parents and basically told them when he thinks the best time for them to come is. So, now we wait to hear about a travel itinerary…. My Mom has already committed to coming as soon as she can and if she gets a call. She was going to come at the end of March but may not have to if Craig’s parents are here… but for sure she’ll come when she gets the call.
I asked my friend, Heather (with my tail between my legs and for no reason) and she gladly said yes. They are my weekend/evening/middle of the night plan until Craig’s parents arrive or mine do, whichever comes first. As much as I appreciate this, I know it won’t be very pretty if we are grabbing the girls in the middle of the night and dropping them off… but it’s a good plan.
So, I’m still stressed out about it a bit. My ideal plan would to have my parents here when I go into labour… just like the last time. It worked out perfectly. It would also be pretty ideal to know when Squirt was going to arrive… even with a scheduled section, I bet this will be a surprise.

I'm glad you got all that done, throwing stuff away always makes me feel better!!!!!

I know you'd like a better plan, but I think for now, you have a good handle on it and because you just can't plan stuff like that you just have to go with the flow.

I'm thinking of you and crossing my fingers for a good outcome.

I'm glad you have a plan! Do you usually go into labor suddenly or do you get any notice? Maybe this tme you'll be able to get some advance notice for your mom to be here! Thinking of you! Keep taking it easy, as much as you can, and following all dr's orders.

Thanks so much for the support!

With Piper I had no notice. I woke at 5:00 when my waters broke. With Davi, I had contractions etc for a week and thankfully my parents came out on the weekend. They would have gone home on the Sunday for work on Monday, but that was the day that Davi arrived.
