The one about the sleep

I’m not getting much of it these days. How long can my body carry on like this? Don’t get me wrong, I am happy that Diva 3 has not made her arrival yet, but would be much happier if the contractions would stop so that I could actually get some sleep at night.

I was so exhausted yesterday that I had two naps! I got up in the morning and after two hours I went back to bed for a nap. I napped for almost 2 hours. I then got up for a few hours and ended up back in bed for a nap. I even went to bed at my regular time.

However, sleeping at night is not something that comes easy to me these days. I toss and turn for comfort, get up to go to the bathroom and have contractions and back pain. By morning, I am so tired but need to get up just to move around for comfort. Oh sleep, I miss you so much. Come back to me.

I would definately talk to your doctor about getting you a prescription for turbutiline. I took it every 4 hours for about 3-4 months with nolan. It really does help to relax the uterus and stop the pesky contractions. If you need to pack a lunch and sit in the waiting room till they will answer your questions to your liking do so. You know how awful the nicu is and it sounds like you are having a lot of contractions. If you are having more than 6 an hour, i'd call your dr asap. This is not something that they should be taking likely. I've been in your shoes and worried my head off with Nolan, and luckily my drs were very proactive with me. Nolan was born at 37 weeks when I went off all the meds.

I don't know what it is but they don't seem at all concerned about this. I see my OB on Thursday and am going to discuss it further with her.

They don't seem concerned because I wasn't in "actual labour"….
