Month 23 – Letter to Davilyn

Our bedtime routine consists of you and I sitting in the rocking chair. We read a couple of stories, including Twinkle Twinkle. We talk and give each other kisses and sing Bow Wow Wow.

You rest your head on my shoulder and we rock together, quietly. Just you and I. These are moments that I hold onto. Look forward to. They are becoming fewer and fewer as the days go by and you get older. There will come a day when you won’t want me to snuggle with you before bedtime. When a kiss and a hug will do. There will come a day when I go to bed before you do and wake in the middle of the night with a start, hoping you made it home safely.

But right now. You aren’t yet two and we snuggle at bedtime.

You are our little “copycat”. Everything Piper does, so can Davi. It is very cute and it makes me smile when I watch the two of you playing together, nicely. There are many moments throughout the day when the two of you do not play so nicely together and, to be honest, it drives me crazy.

You are a very sweet big sister to Quinn. Whenever I am feeding her you come over and say hi to her and then kiss her on the head. Sometimes you will stand there kissing her little hand. The other morning when you woke up, you came out to the living room and looked in the play pen for Quinn and were very concerned when she was not in there. You turned to me and said, “Where’s Quinn?” You are such a sweetheart.

I love your the little curls on your head.

I love your pudgy cheeks

I love your attitude and determination.

I love your laugh and your giggles.

I love you!
