Want to know what that number represents? Want to know what we have been up to here at The Rumour Mill? Want to know what was so awesome that it was better than Las Vegas and Bon Jovi?

Here is a hint (or two):

Whatever we did, it sure had us spending a lot of time in the van.

4,384.4 is the total number of kilometers that we travelled on our two week family vacation! We hitched our camper up and travelled West to the Mountains! I must admit that I was feeling anxious leading up to our trip. I was terribly worried about how the girls would be in the van and how they would sleep (or not sleep) in the camper. I was stressing out about stressing out on our vacation. It was all in vain.

I mean, of course we had our moments. Of course we are a total gongshow. But we are a fun gongshow and we had a great time! The girls were awesome, from Diva 1 all the way to Diva 3. It was a great family vacation.
We spent a week in Edmonton, Alberta at my cousin’s place. It was great to visit and get back to my city of birth. It was awesome to meet my newest cousin, James, and let the girls hug and kiss baby boy. He was only 6 weeks old when we there.
After that week in Edmonton, we got down to business.

Camping in the Rocky Mountains = AWESOME. We loved it. We can’t wait to go back and do it all again! It rocked. Even Piper and Davilyn were smitten with the Mountains and the snow on top. They loved the view as much as we did. I loved the cool, crisp mornings and the warm days.

We also had a chance to quickly visit this place here, where Craig and I spent our honeymoon.

Lots of memories were made on our vacation. Many times I found myself wanting to hit the pause button of life and the rewind button. If only we could. Visit those memories in real time once again.

Piper was especially at a great age for this. She was interested in travelling and seeing the mountains (and this got Davilyn excited too). One night while snuggled in the camper Piper said to me, “Mom, us being together like this is so much fun.”
My heart melted because she knew exactly what we were wanting when we decided to take this vacation. That all the work and effort was worth it because we were together.
She also marshed me a mallow one night (her way of saying roasting marshmallows), burnt it to a crisp and then gave it to me. When I took it from her, she said, “That was my pleasure to cook it for you.”
And it was my pleasure to take this vacation with you…. with all four of you.
