Home, Mama

I am at my parents this week with the girls. I think it is the hottest week this summer and they do not have air conditioning. It’s amazing what you get used to. I can’t believe I ever spent summers here without it!

To cool off we have been making the very short trek to the lake and taking a dip. It’s refreshing until you actually get out of the water…. it is so hot here.
The other day, Davilyn announced she was done and said, “Home, Mama.” I asked her if she was done swimming and she nodded. So I said, “Okay let’s go back up to Gramma’s.” She looked at me and said, “No, Mama. My Home.”
This is our last scheduled time away from home this summer and it would appear that Davilyn is in agreement. In a few short weeks, schools start back up and that includes Piper off to preschool (again).
Although I do find myself saying, “where did the summer go?” I can say it with a big grin on my face, lots of memories in my heart and know we lived it up around here.

you really did have an incredible summer my friend, so many things to do and places to go….
but sometimes you do, just need to go "home Mama"

enjoy these last few weeks…and while the heat is distracting I'll take it over snow any day. 🙂

Now that you mention it, I also grew up without air conditioning! Fortunately my mom moved to a new house that has it but she still keeps it warmer than we do.
