The one where we had lunch

Yesterday I took the 3 Divas to the mall. We dropped some pants off to be hemmed and then had some lunch. While we were eating lunch, I was approached by another mother (who has 4 children all in their 20’s now) and she complimented me on my beautiful family. She told me that she had been watching me as I strolled up with the girls, pulled out a baby wipe and cleaned the table. She told me she was taken back in time when she had three small children of her own to care for.

She asked how I was managing and if I was lucky to have a lot of support at home. So I told her that my husband is pretty awesome and does what he can, when he can. That my family does what they can too but that they do not live very close to us. She nodded. She understood how hard it can be to raise a young family.
She showed Piper and Davilyn a picture of her children and as she walked away she complimented them about how well behaved they were. And they were. Very well behaved as the 3 Divas and I lunched together at the mall. We are not always this together when we are out in public, we are human after all and they are just kids. But it felt pretty good and they were very proud of themselves to hear this stranger tell them they were behaving so well.
And then Piper proclaimed, “We were so good we should get popcorn!”
So we did.

Nothing better than when the kids behave like angels when we are out! (And I love that people comment on it – because at 10 and 7 my girls still like to hear the compliments… and I do too!) Congrats, mom!!!! You're obviously doing this right!
