Month 30 – Letter to Davilyn

Dearest Davilyn ~

When I call you Baby or Sweetie, you say to me, “I’m not Baby, I’m Davilyn.”  It’s so cute. We are still working on this potty training thing and I am just trying to come to terms with the fact that you won’t do this until you are ready.

You had your very first hair cut this past week!  My goodness you were so well behaved as you sat nice and still.  You were so proud to be getting you hair cut like Piper does.

I was so proud of you! You loved your cute little hair cut and Mama saved the first cut, put the hair in an envelope and it will go in your baby book.  I hope someday you will read these letters and look through your book and realize the great wonder that you truly are.  You are my wonder.  My joy.  Even when we haven’t had enough sleep.  Even when you wake me up in the middle of the night.  You are my Baby.  My Sweetie. You always will be.  Even when you are my age.  Imagine that.

We are starting to get excited about Christmas around here!  You absolutely love the song, Jingle Bells and will request that we listen to it in the van.  I love listening to you sing and I intend to get that cute little voice on video.  I am so excited to watch you enjoy Christmas this year.  I can’t wait to play, err, watch you play with your new toys.

You are your very own person, Davilyn.  With a spirit, personality and energy all your own.  Remember that spirit and foster that personality because it’s all gorgeously, wonderfully you and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
