Lace ’em Up!

We had a gorgeous winter day here yesterday! After Piper’s hockey game, we came home had lunch and then she and I laced up our skates and went out to the backyard rink. It was so much fun. We had a competition and she would drop the puck (like a face off) and we would each have to try and get it to score in the net. The only thing about that is she would drop the puck right in front of her own stick.

I had to clear the rink of snow first. We seem to get just enough that it needs to be cleared off. So while I was clearing the ice, Piper was snapping these pictures.

And then we did a self portrait!

We will need a bigger skating surface next winter, especially since Davilyn will likely be out there more often and hopefully Quinn can too. I love that our girls’ are getting to the ages where we can do this stuff together. It certainly helps these long winter months seem much shorter.
