When life gets busy

We just pick up the pace.  Don’t we?  We don’t stop and say, “hey, now slow down there.”   Nope we roll with the punches.

This past week has been busy for me and hasn’t left me with much time to devote to this place and I hate that.  It bothers me that I haven’t updated since my Mother’s Day post.

I bet you are wondering (or not) what is keeping me so busy.  Well first of all, work is getting busier by the day and sucking up what little free time I once had.  I would much rather be busy at work than not but I have had to put in an extra afternoon here and an hour at night there.

Soccer has been cancelled more than we have actually played this season.  With all the rain and the SNOW at the beginning of May our fields were a sloppy mess.  Last night, however, it was game on.  I had the chance to spend some time at the U4 field with Davilyn and her little friends.  Oh how I missed that age.  They are so cute and would rather drag their feet through the mud then kick a soccer ball.  I was so proud of Davilyn, who chased that soccer ball down and proved to me that she is my child and not so different than her big sister Piper.  She was on fire.

I am a volunteer on our local preschool board and the month of May is busy for us.  We have a field trip and graduation to plan for.  Yesterday our little class of future Kindergartener’s jumped a big yellow school bus and went to our local elementary school for a tour and then drove on over to the local fire station for a tour.  We ended our little outing with a picnic lunch in the gym.  Piper’s last field trip as a preschooler… September my baby is off to kindergarten.

I snuck in an evening for myself for a wax and a pedicure!

Life is not showing signs of slowing down anytime soon (and Craig is left wondering if I have taken on too much) but we are having fun and that is all that matters.

Now please excuse me, I need a nap.

Make sure to send me a memo for when you are going to be at home. 🙂
