Smile to myself

I often get comments about how close in age the Divas are.  How perfectly timed their arrivals were and how Craig and I “just got the family thing out-of-the-way quickly.”

When those comments are made, I know people certainly do not want me to give them our infertility resume.

I just nod and smile to myself.

How very wrong those assumptions are.  Although the ages of the Divas are close.  It wasn’t our planning.  It wasn’t what we had in mind, initially.  Or ever. We had plans of our own and if those plans had worked out I would have a seven-year old (at least).  It’s (now) okay how things worked out for us.  Sure.  I can say that because things did in fact work out but it had nothing to do with our plan or our timing.

And (I can say this now because things did work out rather perfectly) sometimes Someone else’s timing is much better than our own….
