Dearest Piper ~

I hope you slide into kindergarten with ease.  Who am I kidding, of course you will!  The closer your first day of school gets, the more I sway between being really excited for you and being sad that time has seemed to pass us by so fast.  When I pictured age 5, I still thought you would seem like my baby.  You aren’t and you don’t.  Most days, I look at you and can’t believe you are only 5.  You seem like such a big girl, doing big girl things and I am standing at the doorway watching you grow up before my eyes.

I do miss that little baby girl who loved to snuggle with us.  That baby girl who turned our world upside down and inside out.  There are many times when I wish for just a few moments to go back in time and hold you, sleeping in my arms.  Life is not like that and we don’t get to go back in time.  So I try to embrace all of these moments and cherish each milestone and tell you how proud I am of you.

Take kindergarten by storm.  Turn it’s world upside down and inside out.  Then come home and tell me all about it!

Mama loves you, Magoo.

Love Mama.
