Halloween Adventures

I have been neglecting my blog lately.  Not because I want to but because I have quite a bit going on here at The Rumour Mill Headquarters.  Personally and professionally.  We have been busy and preoccupied plus, we were away in Vegas for a week.

We came home and everyone was well into the swing of Halloween type adventures.  I was feeling quite sad that I had missed so much of the Diva’s Halloween adventures.  They dressed up for skating and dance and Davi had her Costume party at school while we were away.  I did not realize how much that would bother me.  In retrospect, I should have known.  Halloween is one of my favourite days of the year.  Follows closely behind Christmas.  Never again will I vacation without my children so close to Halloween.

We still made it to a pumpkin patch this year and we made it home in time to celebrate and re-create our Caramel Candy Apples.  And, of course, we were home for Halloween.  Here are some photos from our Halloween adventures.

Craig is the Dessert Chef in the house (at least for this special treat).  He gets all the ingredients and makes the caramel.

The Girls are always so excited to help out with these annual treats.  Even though they have yet to finish an entire Caramel Apple, they love this tradition of ours. I must admit that I do too.

If you are looking for the recipe, you can find it here.  The Girls love to help, but the pot is very hot so I have to make sure to watch them closely.  It’s always fun (and messy) with the Divas put on their aprons and help out in the kitchen.

TRICK OR TREAT!

Halloween and candy treats, what is not to love!  Piper and Davilyn picked out their own costumes this year.  I re-used Piper’s Marie the Cat costume and I thought Quinn really pulled it off!  She was super cute and all 3 Divas got quite the number of compliments on their costumes.

We could not keep Quinn’s hands out of the treats!  She had more than her share as we did our trick or treating.  Every time a treat was dropped in her bucket she had to take a look inside.  I was swiping them and putting them in a bag so she wouldn’t be screaming for them.  When she saw the bucket empty, she promptly gave it to me.  Then as we approached another opportunity for a treat, she would grab the bucket and put it out in front of her.  My gosh, I will miss this age.
