Busy is one word to define our life right now.  The month of December is completely insane until Christmas.  Piper’s ringette schedule is extremely busy too.  Some weekends she has 3 games!  That’s a lot of games.  She is doing awesome this year.  She is skating well and scoring goals and just really helping out her team.  It’s hard to believe that last year she could not skate.

Davilyn is our dancing doodle.  She is getting ready for her Christmas program.  It is so cute watching them practise. She loves to sing the song and practise.  She loves preschool and bringing home her treasures.  One of her favourite things to do is paint.  I often get little portraits out of her school bag.

Quinn is still screaming but she is talking more.  She is saying “Hi” and “Bye Bye” on a regular basis but other words, she refuses to use as forms of communication.  She can say Piper, Papa, milk, yes, please, Annie, Mama, Daddy…. she just doesn’t use these words to communicate with us.  Instead she will walk over the fridge with her sippy cup in her hand and stands pointing and screaming.  This is going to end soon, right?

Annie has had some training and she is so obedient now!  We still have to keep an eye on her or she will wander off and chew a sock, but she has mastered the art of knowing she belongs on her mat when we tell her to go there. She loves to cuddle and snuggle and Piper is really enjoying spending more time with her.  Annie has settled down quite a bit.

Craig and I are having a date night tonight.  We are off to the Jets game together and my fingers are crossed that the babysitter doesn’t have too much trouble putting Quinn to bed.  I have been in the city quite a bit for court and Craig and I are making a point of meeting for lunch whenever our schedules allow us.  It has been nice to have time to talk without being interrupted by the little ones and without trying to talk over the noise.

Our Christmas Tree is up and we have a sprinkling of snow.  It is getting colder out and soon we will be making an ice rink in our back yard.

We are planning a move.  Hoping to build our home and if the time is right and that happens, I will certainly tell you more about it.  Right now we are still in the dreaming phase.  The looking phase.  The planning phase.  I have my eyes on a huge kitchen with walk in pantry and double ovens.  Bedrooms upstairs for each of my girls.  Davi has requested a Princess Room and Piper a hockey room.  Even the girls are dreaming.

Work is busy for both Craig and I.  Juggling and finding the work/life balance has been harder but we are focusing on it and really trying to do what is best for our family.  Craig used to leave early in the morning, long before the rest of us woke up.  Now, he spends those early hours at home working so he can be here in the morning when the girls wake up.  He has breakfast with them and then once they are dressed, he leaves for work.  It has been nice having him around in the morning and the girls love it.
