Dear Piper ~

Reading.

Writing.

Mathematics too.

I’m pretty sure that there isn’t anything that you cannot do. We had your grade 1 parent/teacher interview last week. Not knowing what to expect, it was wonderful to hear that the teacher is happy with your progress.

You are a rule follower and you expect others in your class to be too.

Piper, that’s not such a bad thing. Not at all.

You have many friends and get along with everyone in your class. You don’t appear to be part of a clique.

Piper, that’s not such a bad thing. Not at all.

I worry about you all the time. I pray that you aren’t struggling in class. I pray that your school work will come easily to you. I pray that you have friends and feel loved and valued and smart. I pray that you have confidence in yourself. In your abilities. I pray that your self-esteem is healthy. I worry about you all the time. My first-born, trail blazer.

You are my baby. Yesterday, today and forever you will be. I pray you never doubt my love for you. You, my dear, are one of the best things to ever happen to me. Never forget that.

Mama loves you, Magoo.

Love Mama.
