Dear Piper ~

I have been lucky to be able to drop you off at school this past week. I like being able to do that. I love how you and Davilyn will yell bye Mommy and blow me kisses. I don’t want to think of the day that those kisses will stop coming. I know some day, all too soon, they will indeed stop.

You love being a big cousin.  You love to hold Aria and feed her.  You have even happily helped Auntie change her diaper.

You are doing great in school.  You came home with a letter that told us what level you were reading at.  Level M and well at first, that didn’t really tell me much.  Until I saw the level recommended for grade three reading was M.  There is a reason I had you spend so much time over the summer reading.  You read for at least an hour almost every day of summer break… and sometimes more.  Hard work pays off.

Please remember that.

I can’t believe how much you are growing.  I look at you and wonder where that wee babe went.  Last week you told me that you wanted to be an Athlete when you grow up.  I told you, “You are one now!”  You are.  You love all things sports and I hope you carry that passion all your life.  I love that about you.  That is one way you are so much like me and I love that we have that in common.

There isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not beaming with pride because of you.  I am so incredibly proud of the person you are.

Mama loves you, Magoo.

Love Mama
