Dear Davilyn ~
Christmas came and went with a bang! You woke early and came to our room to tell us Santa had been here. When Daddy asked if you peeked, you said I just saw a bit… and then you listed every single item in the living room. Stinker.
It’s been a fun month of things to do. You were so proud to take the stage at your school Christmas concert. You practised your songs at home. You did a great job with your class on stage! You were very proud and so were we.
We ended the year at a hotel swimming with friends. What a great time we had. You have had two weeks off from school and we are all looking forward to getting back into a routine. You are missing that time with your friends at school. You have been talking about a lot lately, Davilyn and it’s been hard. I hope that when we settle back into a routine, you will settle down too.
You started back to hockey just before the new year and I hope you stick it out. You really do have fun when you are out there. I think the hard part will be the early morning practise on the weekend. You start at 9:00 which means leaving the house just after 8:00. Despite being up, none of us are ready to leave our cozy jammies for the cold rink. Stick it out, though Davilyn, I am sure you will be happy you did.
There is much to look forward to this coming year 2014 is going to be fun!
