Month 56 – Letter to Quinn

Dear Quinn ~

Last month my letter to you was all about the killing of the soldier at the war memorial in Ottawa.  This month I was hoping for some fun Quinnisms… and I will still talk about those, but honestly Quinn, your bed time antics have me at my wits end.

Guess how long your bed time dragged on tonight… almost 2 hours.  And I’m not just talking stall tactics of needing water and a bathroom break, or one last hug and kiss.  Yes it included all of those, but it also included a lot of crying and tantruming by you.

I am so over your bed time routine.

So over it.

Beyond over it, really.

The thing is, I have no idea what I (we) could do differently aside from giving into all your wild and crazy demands.

Get out of my room.

Get in my room.

Don’t lay with me.

Lay with me.

Don’t touch me.

Rub my back.

Honestly, how you are not crashing from exhaustion is beyond me.  I am.  I am crashing from this.  This bed time routine is getting the best of us.  All of us.  It is getting to us all.  But I don’t know how to change it.  It overshadows all of the cute and cuddly and funny Quinnisms going on in our house.  All the awesome and amazing little things you do all day gets lost in the shuffle and chaos of your personal bed time routine.

Like all the singing and counting that you do.  You sat at the table today and started writing the alphabet on a piece of paper.  Your mind is always going and working.  You love to sing.  You dance and you enjoy looking at your books and trying to read them.  There are so many awesome things about you.  I hope we figure this bed time routine out for you, so we can just enjoy all your funny, cuddly and cute Quinnisms.

Mama loves you,

Love Mama.
