Dear Quinn ~
I read an article on “spirited children.” The one thing that really stuck out for me was the phrase…. “their feelings are large and in charge.”
My gosh, this is you. You feel big and large and those feelings take over and take charge. No doubt about that. Parenting you is sometimes my biggest challenge. I lose my patience more than I would like but darn it Quinn, I will not lay with you every night for hours so you can put off falling to sleep!
Our last trip in the boat, we spent the day at a beach. You swam all day and played. We no sooner got in the boat to go home and you were sleeping. It was a great day spent on the water. One of our best of the summer. Those impromptu trips that we think will just fill some time, end up being our best days.
The weather has really switched from hot summer to… fall. It’s been cold and rainy the past few days but none of us are prepared to let summer slip away just yet. We are heading into our last week of summer holidays. I can’t believe that school starts in a week. Senior Kindergarten awaits you.
