Dear Davilyn ~

Grade two today.
Grade two.
I remember your first day of preschool.
Like yesterday.
Grade two.

You did so much reading this summer and you participated in the reading club at the library.  You did a great job.  I hope your love of reading continues.

We spent our last summer weekend in Duluth.  We had fun and did some back to school shopping.  Not only do you love to shop and pick out dresses, but when I told you to find the deals, you did just that.  It was hard to tell you that you couldn’t get a dress when it cost less than $10.00.

I hope you continue to look for deals like that.

You are excited to get back to school and see all of your friends.  Although you spent all summer with many friends, I know you are looking forward to seeing your school buddies.

This year Davilyn, I hope your love of learning and reading continues to grow.  That you make and have many true friends, but most importantly that you are a friend.

I am excited for your new adventures this year but the starting of another school year is a gentle reminder of the years that are slipping through my fingertips.

The Days Seem Long But The Years Are Short.

I hope your teacher knows just how special you are to me.  I hope the brightness of your heart is something that he can see.

Mama loves you, Doodle Bug.

Love Mama.
