Dear Piper ~

Grade four this year.  You started on September 1.  A new school.  Middle school, actually.  You have been helping out a lot around the yard this year too.  You cut grass for us and now you are helping us haul wood for the winter.  You are a pretty big help and we pay you for your work.  It’s well earned.

So far you seem to be enjoying school.  You think that your teacher might be tough but you said that’s okay.  It will still be a good year.

It will be a  busy year.  Lots of hockey is on the agenda this year and I hope you keep your nose to the grind and work hard.  I can’t wait to see how much you progress this year.  Your Dad and I love to watch you play.

We spent last weekend in Duluth and finally went on the Alpine Roller Coaster.  It was awesome.  We all loved it.  You were old enough to ride alone and loved the independence.  It worked well since neither of your sisters were old enough and had to ride with your Dad and I.  It was good weekend of camping, shopping and fun.

This is the last official long weekend of summer.  Soon the snow will fly and we will be skating and snowmobiling in our yard.  I am so excited for it all.

Mama loves you, Magoo.

Love Mama.
