Dear Davilyn ~

Last night driving to hockey practice you said, “Is Savi still sick?”

When I told you that I didn’t think so you said, “Can I be goalie again tonight?”

Then you quietly said, “I think I will play goalie next year.”

I’m never sure what to expect from you because as the season draws to an end, you get tired of it.  You declare a hate for hockey and a retirement of your skates.  I think these words are said out of exhaustion and don’t believe you hate hockey.  After your last tournament of the season and on the way home, you declared that you already missed your friends.

Hockey is fun.

Your season is almost over and things are winding down for us.  We can soon hang up your skates and wait for summer.

We have lots of memories to make this summer.

Mama loves you Davilyn,

Love Mama.
