15 Years and Three Divas Later

And oh the memories that we have made.

Our story continues to write itself.  Full of happy and sad.  Full of adventure and boredom.  Full of chaos and quiet.  Full of love and hockey.

Each new stage we find ourselves in is as welcomed as the stage before.  A chapter without children, newlyweds.  Law school graduation, articling, stress.  Children.

Infertility.

An entire chapter.. a long, lonely chapter full of despair and defeat.  Full of doctors appointments and pregnancy tests.  Wondering if our dream of having children would forever be just that… a dream.

Divas arrived and our hearts exploded.  Our home filled with noise and laughter.  As the girls get older we have become busier and our days revolve around them.  We carve out time when we can for us but we both know that these years with kids in tow go by so fast.  Our energy is focused on them.

Piper is 10 now.  Davilyn 8 and Quinn 6.

How far we have come from our chapter of infertility and newlyweds.

Our story continues to write itself.

I love you more today than I did the day we married.  You are still my favourite person to spend time with. My favourite person to talk to even when those conversations are quick as we doze off to sleep or stolen as we drive home from work at the end of the day and before we greet the girls at home.

And I can’t believe that we have been married 15 years.  Even though I feel my heart has known yours forever, our wedding day seems like just yesterday.  Our adventures, no matter how big or how small, have been all I will ever need.  And without a doubt I would go back to day one and do it all again with you.  No changes.

You and I were meant to be, I have never doubted that.

Happy 15th anniversary.  Thank you for the happy and sad.  Thank you for the adventure and boredom. Thank you for chaos and the quiet.  Thank you for the love and hockey.
