I wouldn’t let you give you even though you wanted to.
I gave you a little nudge (or a big one) and sent you on your way.
You didn’t want to do it.
The grade three spelling bee.
And you were maybe even a little angry with me that I signed you up to do it anyway.
Then you stood on that stage and you placed third out of fifteen.
And you came skipping home, proud as could be.
And forgave me.
