As in Dual Income No Kids.

Craig and I would often spend many supper meals out at restaurants. Our favourite in Guelph, Ontario is The Other Brother, for fondue. This outing is easily a three hour date. So enjoyable. Since moving away from that area and into a community without much in the way of restaurants, we have enjoyed many supper meals out at The Keg.

Since having Piper, I am convinced that it must have been a parent that “invented” home delivery. Craig and I have been out to eat on a few occassions now since Piper’s birth. The first few weeks were a breeze because all she did was sleep. Courage on our part was not needed.

Lately, however, it never fails. As soon as we order our meal Little Miss Pea starts kicking up a fuss and more often than not needs to eat too. Luckily it hasn’t turned us off of eating out completely. The other night we decided to get chinese food take out and decided that the whole fam damily would make the trek to pick it up. Should be pretty uneventful as Piper was sleeping anyway. I park the van and go in to get the food and I was gone about 10 minutes. When I came out my husband is sitting in the second seat of the van with Piper in his arms.

Apparently she started wailing and this was the only way to console her…..

next time it will be home delivery.

LMAO I remember those 3 hour dinners….all too well.

Now..even before our Little Man showed up, our restaurant visits are limited to an hour…perhaps 1.5. As long as my purse is well equipped with crayons, markers, sticker books, colouring books, little toys…

We haven’t tried a restaurant yet with the baby…I think with the baby and our very smart 2 year old, it will be too much work…LOL. We will, once he gets more predictable (and not demand my boob in his mouth at the restaurant for the entire time)..

At the moment, (and as lucky as I am to have Hub home on parental leave for a few months) I just sit and nurse while he decides AND cooks dinner. I’m not complaining.

PS Sounds as though Piper is going through a growth spurt with the increased feedings…the first one begins usually at 2 months. Embrace it šŸ™‚
