Dearest Piper ~
Just like the song goes, you are my sunshine! You make my sun shine when my skies are grey. You are 19 months old now and we are having the time of our life!
We are celebrating your second thanksgiving this weekend and it was so cute watching you stand on your stool helping Daddy stuff the Turkey. You want to get your hands into everything and it has been pretty hard to stop you. Gramma and Papa have come out to celebrate with us and you have been walking around the house calling for Papa.
We had family photos taken at the end of September and Mommy can’t wait to hang them on the walls at home. You were so well behaved and we were very lucky and got lots of great pictures of you.
It seems like everyday you pick up a new word and you love to talk. You even talk and laugh when you are sleeping. You are just like your Mama in that regard. It’s amazing just how quickly you are growing up. This time last year, you were hardly crawling and now we can’t keep up with you.
Being your Mama has certainly been a joy. Something that I can’t even describe with words. It is just an overwhelming feeling that I have in my heart and my soul. I know that we waited for you…. you were meant for us. This is something that I see over and over again each day. All those years that I prayed for a baby, not knowing that you were that prayer unfolding…. not knowing why we had to wait.
Then there was you. Every one of my prayers answered and all my questions gone.
We had some friends over for dinner and it was the best time ever, watching you play with their children. After all these years, our children were finally playing together. My heart was so full. We had such a great time that we were sad to see them leave at the end of the night. There will be many more visits like that one, since we live so close to them again.
Mama wants you to know how much fun she having watching you grow up. How much I love you and just how very special you are.

Your letters to Piper make me cry every month — but in the best way possible. You are able to sum up where I’m at with my baby too, since they are so close in age..and you are able to sum up Motherhood in the most beautiful way. Hugs!
