Dear Piper ~
21 MONTHS! AACCCKKKK!!! You must know that the best moments of your Mama’s life are happening right now. At this very moment, while I watch you sway in the living room with your doll in your arms, singing. Knowing that this time next year we will be a family of four.
You are such a stinker and what a character you have become. You love to be silly and you love to wink at Mama… that’s you winking your heart out!
Mama is losing track of time these days and exhaustion has given us a whole new meaning but I manage to keep my eyes open long enough in the evenings to spend that precious time with you. You have gradually moved your bedtime to 8:00 and we are okay with that. It’s been great fun and such a learning experience.
We still enjoy our nightly cuddles and I’m not so sure I see an end in sight. I am greeted each morning to your sweet little voice saying “Hi Mama” and giving me a sweet kiss. You are my cuddle monster and I have enjoyed each and every cuddle! I can’t imagine a time in my life when you won’t want to be snuggled up against me…. at least, I don’t want to think about that just yet.
You have so many words and phrases that I couldn’t possibly keep a record but some of your favourites lately are:
“I don’t wanna, Mama.”
“I wanna.”
“Taste? Taste?” This one surfaced as Mama was doing some Christmas baking. You figured out how to ask for a taste all on your own.
“Ready?”
“Let’s go.”
You love going outside and loved the first big snowfall that we had. Unfortunately, so far this winter. the temperatures have been very cold. Too cold to take you outside to play for very long. We are hoping that we get a few mild days to enjoy a frolick in the snow.
Mama is counting the time until your new brother or sister arrives and we will all be home together again during the day. How much fun will that be?
This time of year Mama is reminded of all the blessings in her life and no doubt you top the list and continue to appear throughout. You are such a big blessing that I always count you more than once.
