Dearest Davilyn –
You are three months old today! I watch you sleeping in your swing and you look so peaceful. I wonder what little personality is developing inside. Will you be like your sister, like me or like your Daddy. No matter who take after, you will find a way to be uniquely yourself. You are such a beautiful little girl and you have have these gorgeous long eye lashes. You have the cutest long toes and fingers and you are still sporting big blue eyes. I wonder if you will have your Daddy’s eyes.
Your sister Piper is so much in love with you. She wants to kiss and hug you every night before bed and every morning when we all wake up. Soon you will be enthusiasticaly returning all that love. What a joy for your Mama watch. You and Piper have already enjoyed having a bath together. Piper loves to show you how to lay back and put your head in the water. Although you are not doing this on your own quite yet, she is making sure that you will be well prepared.
You went on your very first vacation and big road trip when we travelled south to the Twin Cities. You were such happy little girl and so easy to take with us on our outings. We used the baby bjorn to feed, burp and comfort you when we were on foot and you, my dear, adjusted wonderfully. You are such an easy going baby and you make Mama’s job that much easier.
I like to think that you enjoyed our family vacation (and I am sure you did) but the truth is you slept through most of it! Soon enough Mama and Daddy will be chasing after two little girls… and we look forward to it.
You are starting to smile so much now and we love it! You are starting to take in your surroundings and respond to us when we talk to you. It warms my heart when I am talking to you and you give me a big glorious smile… a beautiful smile.
It is true what they say about having children… you wonder how you can possibly love so much, but you do. One’s heart just expands instantly, never to be the same again. We are so blessed to have you in our life. It is so important to me that you know that and that you remember that long after you have grown up. You grew in our hearts long before we held you in our arms. I am certain that you were meant to be second daughter, long before I even dreamed of having children. That plan was already in place and I am so full of joy to be living it.
