Dear Davilyn ~
Happy 7 month birthday, Bugaboo! My word, you are growing like a weed. You sprouted your two bottom teeth in the last month and have been trying to chomp on everything in sight. Including Mommy! Stop, it hurts.
You are starting to babble alot as well and some days I find myself wondering if there is sheep in the house. BaBaBaBa, is most of what you are saying right now. I’m trying to encourage you to say Mama, but that hasn’t happened yet.
We celebrated your first Christmas. It wasn’t the wrapping paper and ribbons that stole the show, it was your new tutu. You seemed taken by the feel of it and kept trying to get it into your mouth. We had a house full for your first Christmas. Things were hectic and busy but my heart was bursting at the seams. We celebrated your first Christmas with Gramma, Papa, Auntie Michelle, Grammy and Grampy! How exciting that you were able to have this time with both sets of grandparents! Mommy really wanted a picture of my two girls with both sets of Grandparents, but realized it was too late after Gramma & Papa left for home.
You have also realized the joy of your jumperoo. You jump and bounce and squeal with delight in it. It’s so fun to listen to you carry on while you are in there.
The last 7 months have been a glorious bonding experience for Mommy. It’s a bit harder to spend the one on one time that I want to with just you but we manage to sneak in some Mama and Davilyn time. You are not a baby that needs or even wants to be rocked to sleep. You would much rather we just swaddle you and lay you in your crib. This makes life easier for our busy household, but Mama finds herself wanting to cuddle and rock you while you drift off to sleep. You must understand, since every now and again, you will let me do just that. Thank you, Boo… thank you.
Mama is going back to work one day a week starting this month. You and your sister will be at home with Daddy. Daddy is already calling it “Pajama Tuesday”. I know you will all have a great time together but Mommy will still miss you.
