Dear Piper ~

You are such an adventurous spirit and in so many ways you are independent. You are carefree and beautiful.
You are starting preschool again next week and have been talking about it for weeks. We have bought some new clothes and some new running shoes. You are all set to go. We are also exploring Gymkyds with your friend, Emily. I do believe that you two will have a blast!
I cannot believe how quickly you are growing up. Somedays you are three going on thirteen! Seriously. Let’s just work on three going on four. Three has been a challenging age. You are testing your boundries and your independence. I know that this is healthy development, but some days are so trying.
Would you believe that at the age of three and a half, you still are not sleeping through the night. Well, it’s hard to believe, but it’s true. You still wake (sometimes multiple times) in the night and make the nightly trek to our bed.
Although you have long given up napping, you are still a child that needs her sleep. When you are running on empty, it shows. Since you are normally a happy, bubbly little girl who is easily pleased, it is pretty easy for us to see when you have come to the end. Your not napping has made bedtime a walk in the park. I love bedtime in our house (most nights). You and Davilyn are usually sleeping by 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 respectively.
We have had a good summer together and although the seasons are changing and fall will soon be arriving we have so many other wonderful things to look forward too. And we get to look forward to them together.
Mama loves you, Pea,
Love Mama
