We are taking in the Parade of Homes this weekend. Trying to find ideas or a “house” that we love. We are really hoping to build this year. We have been rather slow at the process because building is going to cost quite a bit of money and we aren’t totally sure what we want.
We seem to have a pretty good idea about what we don’t want. That’s a start, I guess.
We took the girls to three different homes yesterday. One stood out for us. There would be a few things that we would change with it but for the most part, we both really liked the home. We are surprised to see that we are really leaning towards a 1.5 story or a 2 story. We have loved our Bungalows for so long. Size matters to us too. We want nothing smaller than what we currently have and that seems hard to come by unless we build. We currently have 1800 square feet of bungalow and a finished basement.
The girls were, for the most part, well-behaved yesterday. I can see why it would be hard not to want to try things out and sit on furniture. Then going outside, wanting to jump in puddles instead of getting in the truck. So today, we are going to finish up the Parade of Homes without them.
I am on a mission today. To find a kitchen I could love for the rest of my life.
