Dear Quinn ~

Today you are six!

It seems like just yesterday and at the same time, the day of your birth seems so long ago.

The last six years have passed quickly even though the days seem long.

You are growing into a strong, headstrong girl who is able to do whatever she puts her mind to.  You and I often engage in a battle of wills… and sometimes I wish you weren’t so headstrong.  But you are.

You had your tonsils and adenoids out on March 8th and it was a trying and difficult recovery for you.  It’s one of the most unfair things to a six-year-old.  To be allowed, and under doctors orders, to have all the slurpees, popsicles, ice cream and jello that you want…. but you just can’t stomach it or swallow it.  That is so cruel.

But you managed on and we got through the trying two weeks following your surgery… and now you are six.

Six years of Quinn that have been joyous and challenging.  Busy and fun.  Life has been exciting since you arrived on the scene.  You were five weeks early but that never slowed you down.

You are learning to read and love to write out words and make up stories.  You love swimming and riding your bike.  You still love Elsa and the songs from Frozen.  Shopkins are also a joy for you.  You love to help in the kitchen and are starting to show interest in cooking.

You are fiercely independent.

We can’t imagine our lives without you, our little Quinner.

Mama loves you,

Love Mama.

Quinn is 6
